"Today was Judy's first day of kindergarten.  She was so anxious and excited to start.  She had millions of questions about every detail!  After I sent her in and got back in the car I thought of you both.  There was a time when Sam and I weren't sure that Judy would be able to handle school.  We thought she'd never talk to anyone except us.  You are the first people who helped us help Judy.  Before we came to OTR, we had Judy see all kinds of specialist and get all kinds of tests.  It wasn't until OTR, when she was 3, that we were able to identify her SPD and OCD/anxiety.  She has come so far in 3 years.  She's talking and socializing and participating in age appropriate activities.  She is better able to verbalize what's bothering her and she hasn't forgotten some of the self soothing skills she learned from you.

She still has lots to work on.  She definitely has severe anxieties about her world.  I still take her to the children’s hospital every week for play therapy in their Child Psychiatry department.  She has difficulty managing anger and aggression, but we're working with her all the time.  I wanted to write you to let you know that Sam and I haven't forgotten how much you helped our family.  You helped us get started and get the appropriate help for Judy.  We will forever be grateful for your time and patience with all of our girls.

I wish you both well and great success in your professional lives as OT's.  The children you help will only benefit from your knowledge and extreme patience with them.
"

"I thought you'd like to hear about Jimmy's first kindergarten report card.  He's doing great academically!  But the best thing is what his teacher wrote in the comment section:  "Jimmy seems to enjoy school and likes to talk and play with his friends."  Yay Jimmy!  Thanks for all you've done to make this possible!"
